UT61E plus vs Brymen 257s vs Brymen 235 vs Ut195T
(1/2) > >>
raresvintea:
Hello, i want to change my old multimeter, ut 61e, a good one for me. I don't usually do main meas.
B257s is a good one, diode voltage is low,
B235 is a good multimeter with LoZ, without bargraph
ut61e plus has a plus in counts but lacks LoZ, what voltage has when measuring diodes?,
ut 195 is a rough varriant with loZ and a torch

I want a quick range multimeter, eventually LoZ, AA or AAA battery is a plus for me

Have a nice day

mcinque:
avoid uni-t, stick to brymen. just better quality, roughness, specifics, accuracy, calibration stability etc.

The newer UNI-T models are mechanically quite well built - much better built than the UT61E (I have an UT89X that is quite similar to the UT195).

Electrically I can tell that at least the UT89X is very fragile - good for low-power electricity/electronics use. The UT195 is very robust, judging by the review and photographs below:
https://lygte-info.dk/review/DMMUNI-T%20UT195DS%20UK.html

The UT195 is a relatively expensive model for a 6000 count meter, rivaling with Brymens BM235 and BM257 in this regard. However, it has quite a number of interesting features that can be useful for electronics, such as 20kHz bandwidth and 20+MHz frequency meter, as well as a reasonable capacitance meter (Uni-T tends to do good in this feature). However, this model is very new and does not have the track record of the aforementioned Brymens.

You should be good with any of these models.

I have the Unit ut61E+, I am really very satisfied.

For the price of the Uni-T UT61E you also could afford a Brymen 786- and would support the EEVBlog ;-)
(At least judging from the actual prices in germany)

(I admit I am also a bit confused by the pricing, seems that in germany some prices just take a big jump)
