Victor 4080 LCR meter
lordium:
Victor 4080 LCR meter, bought for about 100$. Had it for a while (about a year) and just though I'd write a short summary of it.
I use it mainly to check unknown/unmarked caps and inductors, but also for troubleshooting broken electronics.
Has rechargeable battery inside (use mini-USB connector). Came with 2 banana to crocodile clips, and they work for the most part, but struggle at certain values/frequencies. Has option to plug 4 wire connection, which I made using a 2 sided copper PCB (just filed away the copper between connectors and soldered cables to it). Yes it is a shitty cable but results show they work just fine (has since made a new and improved cable).
Opened it up and took a few pictures (sorry for the bad quality).
Measured it against a recently calibrated Hioki IM3523 at work, and the results were not bad (see Libre Office file).
Small portion of test for lazy people:
1.5mF, 100Hz
LCR METER Cs Rs Ω D
Hioki IM3523(4w) 1.455 0.05585 0.051
Vc4080 (2w) 1.457 0.0565 0.052
I'm happy with the buy and it still works fine after having it for about 1 year.
If anyone want any other/more information about it just ask.

I also have this meter bought from https://www.impac.com.br/medidor-esr/medidor-de-esr-com-ponte-rlc-1khz-10khz-40khz-100khz-usb.html and I'm very happy, all my esr needs where covered

I have the Victor VC9805A+ which I bought some years ago in China very cheaply and it works well for me although I do not use it intensively.

Hello,
i have one same, i wanted to know if you know which ic controller mounts this model, because you don't read anything.
Maybe it's a MSP430F437?
Thank you
lordium:
Probably not this mcu. You can see the pins power/gnd pins don't match up. But since you have the same one you can start with checking the mcu datasheets for matching ones, and then probe JP202 and JP201 for more information. probably one is uart and other one for programming. I'm currently away for work, but can help you when I get back next week if you haven't found out by then.
