Atten ADS1102CML 100MHz oscilloscope - new firmware
« on: April 04, 2013, 01:32:49 pm »
Hi,

Just some updates on the Atten firmware. I have received confirmation from one of my Canadian readers that Atten is now shipping their new 'scopes with version 5.01.02.13 software. He ordered his and has confirmed that the firmware version matches what they advertise on their EU website:

The hardware version : 11-62-3.3
The Software version : 5.01.02.13

See http://www.atten.eu/oscilloscopes/atten-ads1102cml-100mhz.html for more info.

I've asked my previous Atten contact if the firmware is available for download, but did not get a response yet. If anybody has any contact with Siglent/Atten please see if you can wrest the new firmware form them! I had an email conversation with a Siglent rep last year who said they were re-writing the software from scratch (to make it multi-threaded). Perhaps this is the result?

Update 24-Dec-2015: So after a few years and a number of emails to Atten I can only conclude that Atten is no longer supporting this model any more. Atten now has a new "+" model with completely different software. Maybe they have a new supplier for the internals as well (perhaps their license deal with Siglent ran out?).

For Siglent oscilloscopes (and for other equipments) FW's  can dowload directly from Siglent.

http://www.siglent.com/en/

there "Service" and there "Download center".

There is now available 5.01.02.13

From factory it have been installed in new units some time ago.

NOTE: FW upgrade procedure is changed. Older versions upgrade was littlebit different.  Just follow instructions exactly.

This time I do not know what all is repaired or improved but least EqualTime mode works now really lot of better.

I drive a LEC (low el. consumption) BEV car. Smoke exhaust pipes - go to museum. In Finland quite all electric power is made using nuclear, wind, solar and water.

Wises must compel the mad barbarians to stop their crimes against humanity. Where have the wises gone?

Thanks rf-loop! Do you know if there are any limitation on the new firmware in terms of minimum hardware required or should it run on all hardware versions?

Hey deckert,
Could anyone with the new firmware that own a ADS-1102CML check how far
the Oscope can display/trigger Low Volts + Hz?  The specs say it's = to or < below
10 Hz but I would like to know the exact that can get out of the units, especially
with the new firmware.   Thinking of buying..Thanks in advance to any replies!

I have ATTEN ADS 1102CML. After upgrade to Siglent R005B01D02P32 from http://www.siglent.com/ENs/gjjrj.aspx?id=15&page=3 lost LongMemory menu and same Long memory, work like CNL.
But, in https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/atten-asd1102cal-to-siglent-sds1102cml/msg332942/#msg332942 you can see link to configuration CFG file which necessary also upgrade. http://siglent.freeforums.org/new-fw-for-sds1000cml-and-cnl-t77.html

My steps:
1. upgrade firmware to FW 5.01.02.22 CML from http://siglent.freeforums.org/new-fw-for-sds1000cml-and-cnl-t77.html, reboot device. nothing picture on boot screen but worked, but without LongMemory
2. update CFG file from http://siglent.freeforums.org/new-fw-for-sds1000cml-and-cnl-t77.html, reboot device, got Siglent boot picture with 1102CML model.
3. Do self calibration, AND, tada - worked with LongMemory but as Siglent 1102CML, not ATTEN, i suppose it's not scary.

Siglent firmware fixed some bugs from last ATTEN firmware, its good.

Thank you holy EEVblog.
