Multimeter probes for SMT work
« on: March 17, 2013, 09:47:34 pm »
Most multi meters come with a set of probes with tips that are  simply too large for probing  fine-pitch surface mount components.

I went searching for better and got a set  from a USA distributor, Digikey... I have been finding them very useful.

A ultra short video, below:

The set I have is from a different company, but they're wonderful for small packages (Probemaster 8150 FWIW).

I use a set of Pomona 5953A test leads. Needle sharp and the tips can be extended up to 3 inches.
