EDIT: the only reason I posted here was to see which is the 'real' dso2d15 thread...

They are both “real”, but the continuation actually takes place here:

I recently bought the Owon SDS210s, on the basis of being the same as the SDS1102, except with greater capture depth and the addition of a signal generator.

I have only used it for a short time, trying to problem solve an ultrasound pest plug that has failed.

It was inexpensive and likely fine for my light occasional use. TBD if the lack of extensive trigger options will restrict it for me.

PS, I have access to a Hantek DSO5102P and Zeeweii 3D12, if needed for additional triggers and portability.

Ah well since I'm just buying my first oscilloscope, I guess I should go with the Hantek. It seems to have a (marginally) better UI and I don't think sample depth matters for me that much. 8M should be fine. I really do not like the extremely limited trigger options on the OWON.

On another note, is there any Linux software to use the probe as a "pc based" probe? (DSO2X1X)

You mean "oscilloscope", not "probe", right?
Not that I know of, but the DSO2000 has a SCPI interface that can be controlled with Linux (pyvisa).

I considered the Hantek; the reason why I chose the Owon was because it was marginally cheaper (below the UK import tax limit), it was similar to the older DSO1102 which has pedigree as a good robust basic unit and the Hantek seemed to be reported as less stable, with frequent FW fixes needed to achieve stability (as far as I could tell at the time of research anyway). I also liked the look of the OWON UI.

The built-in AWG has no real sweep mode.
However, the AWG can be scripted via SCPI (pyvisa).

I don't know why the scope measures 304mV at 8.1MHz and 128mV at 8.4MHz.
That makes no sense to me.
The script is only a support. The requirements must of course be met.
You certainly have to use your brain to make a correct setup.
Try to adjust the script header (but this is certainly not the only problem).
Code: [Select]
#!/usr/bin/python3

FS = 1000000
FE = 10000000
PTS = 10
VPPCh1=5
VPPCh2=5
VDIVDUTCh = "1V"
VDIVREFCh = "1V"
SLEEPTIME = 1 #Adjust to your needs.

With my device, your case looks like in the attached screenshot.

Following this, the new display arrived, fits exactly like the original and the image quality is just as good.

I don't like films, only a clean screen, it's easier to buy a spare screen, I remove films on all gadgets.

It's a tempered glass, not a film.
It doesn't scratch and gives a perfectly clean picture.
