Siglent SSA3015X Help
« on: December 09, 2020, 12:10:22 am »
Good Affternoon All,

A bit of a newwbee here sorry, I'm trying to work if there is a way to "crack" the options on a SSA3015x?

I tried reading through the forums on this, but it made my head hurt trying to stich the information together.

From what I understand these devices run BlackBox behind the scene and have no problems with Linux.

Can someone please help me as I'm not sure but I think you need to convert the SSA3015x to a SVA or something? (a little lost sorry)

Any help, gratefully accepted.

 With thanks

Welcome to EEVblog.

Looking at the datasheets, SSA3015X Plus and SVA1015X have identical 1.5 GHz spectrum analyser specs however the SVA instrument has one additional option as listed below.

Common to both:
EMI activation license
Advanced measurement activation license
Digital modulation analysis (ASK/FSK) activation license
Analog modulation analysis (AM/FM) activation license

Specific to SSA3015X Plus:
VSWR/Return Loss activation license (this capability is standard/free in the SVA1015X VNA mode)

Specific to SVA1015X:
Distance-to-fault activation license

Interesting exercise.

Kind of makes you wonder if you can put the SVA firmware on the SSA?
