Wanted: Panasonic Service Manuals VP-7635A and VP-7637A
« on: October 21, 2022, 09:12:42 am »
Hi!

Does anyone have the service manuals for the Panasonic Stereo Modulator units VP-7635A and VPP-76377A?
There are service manuals for other Panasonic units on the different manual platforms, but only for the more sophisticated units like the audio analyzers and RF generators.

Is there anyone in possession of service manuals for these two units and willing to scan them or sell and ship them to me, that I can scan them?

Background story:

I have used the older VP-7635A Panasonic Stereo Modulator for quite a while, even knowing that it is a little bit unstable here and there. So while you can set the MPS signal output level, it only works stable when connected to my Marconi 2022C. Any SM300 or SMIQ just gives errors about signal levels on the external modulation input being too high or too low.

While searching for the service manuals on the older -35A model, I came accross an ebay find of an newer -37A and bought it including the original manual. I hooked it up against my R&S FMA and checked it, disassembled it and found it to be in pristine condition! However, a few values seem to be a little bit out of spec. But the user manual just refers to two potentiometers that are accessible through the front panel. But inside the unit there are another 50 pots to be trimmed...
As the unit had been in regular calibration till about 2017. It also carries a MOD Sticker, that looks like a re-capping service and the exchange of some op-amps.

So I only trimmed the master oszillator to get the 19kHz and 57kHz pilot tones as close as possible. But the test tones are still a bit off. So I guess there is another stage responsible for the AF.

I contacted Panasonic Germany, but they just forwarded me to their repair and service center. But these guy just repair consumer equipment and the even don't use Panasonic test equipment at all. So they quit.

Thanks for any additional help!

Bonjour
Je vois que vous avez le manuel d'utilisation du VP7637A
Pourriez vous m'en faire une copie ou un pdf, tous frais à ma charge bien entendu.
Cordialement
Jean Pierre
