What HPAK gear had the highest revision letter??........
« on: January 18, 2024, 03:21:09 am »
I've seen lots of "B"s (6632A/B)...
Some "C"s (8510A/B/C)...
and a few "D"s (8648A/B/C/D)...

What piece of HP/Agilent/Keysight gear had the highest revision letter? Bonus points if it's still in production.

It is not always a strict revision increment as tautech points to.

Take the Command Expert supported instruments list which includes oddities such as:
E4980AL
UXR0051AP
RP7952AT
DSO9204H
DSOX93004L
DSOX92004Q

G and T variants are discussed here:

I think "T" is not revision letter, it is for "touch screen", isn't it?

The letters are not a revision, they are for different specced versions of the same model, or major redesign of a product. The serial number prefix is normally used for design revisions.

Mostly stuff that was in production for very long time and got upgrade due to old parts unavailable or because new technology was better.
HP8566/8568 and 3585A/B switch from 9825 to 68k
HP16500A/B/C from old 68k to 68020/68040 or something.

Or photochopper to discrete chopper amp in HP3400A/B.

Think HP8753 got most upgrades that way...

There was an 8554L plugin for these, too.

But as far as actual revision suffixes go, I can't think of anything later than the 'G' suffix used for the 16xx/16xxx series logic analyzers.
