Title: What is the difference between these Keithley models?
Post by: walden156 on July 07, 2016, 02:50:27 pm
I am trying to replicate a test set up.
I have a Keithley 237 and a 2002
The manual for the tests uses a 437 and a 7002 switchboard.

As far as I can tell, the 237 is a voltage/current source/measure
where 437 is a smaller voltage source, but only an ammeter.

So I think I can use the 237 in place of the 437.

I can't figure out what the switchboard (7002) does. So far as I can tell, it's only used to measure multiple things at once. Would I be able to switch it out for something else, and measure one at a time instead?
Or does something else happen internally?

Sorry for the vague information!

7002 or 7001 is just a switching system, a multiplexer. No processing at all. Most of the switch cards simply use relays, but they are small signal relays, often with low thermal EMF contacts to minimize errors. You could homebrew something using small signal (or telecom) relays. Don't use power relays.

Keithley 437? I couldn't find reference to this model number, perhaps typo?
Perhaps if you could hint bit more about your test setup requirements, one could suggest more appropriate solution or details if 237+2002 will work.
7001/7002 is a switching box for relay and I/O cards.
