R&S scope 49% off
« on: March 29, 2020, 12:41:17 am »
Might be old news but looks like R&S is looking to compete somewhat on price.

~$1500 for MSO
only 2 analog channels but 300MHz (with some decoder software included?)

Hmm, $1490 for the 2 channel version and $3700 for four?

Do you get a seperate case, power supply, display, sample/FFT processor etc. to justify the more than double the cost?

Ok maybe the 'frequency response analysis, history and segmented memory' that you get thrown in with the 4 channel version is worth a few dollars but dam I hate market segmentation.

The RTC is the older Hameg design(re-designed to fit in with newer models), it's not just about segmentation. It's not one of the "power of 10" scopes. No 10.1" touch screen, less memory, and an 8 bit ADC. That's also why you don't get other features of the newer models, it wasn't designed with them in mind. One thing they do all include is the required logic probes though, no extra cost there.

Ah, good point - I was comparing the RTB2002 and 2004 - I didn't spot that they are completly different models.

Threw in some optional unlocks too.
