Whats a good (reasonable) price for Agilent 53131A Counter?
« on: December 22, 2013, 05:39:28 am »
Hey folks

I am just curious, what's fair or reasonable price for a fully functional Agilent 53131A universal counter. (no high stability time base or ghz input)?

A quick look on 'fleabay' looks like just over the AUD1000, I recall I got mine for 800-900 AUD a year or so ago, but then the Aussie dollar was worth a bit more then, I haven't had any problems with the bigger Chinese sellers and they see to sell cheaper than the US sources. If you can get under the AUD1000 you can often not get slugged with GST if you are importing into AUS.
A good place to look is  http://www.used-line.com for an overall picture.
I use an old HP GPSDO z3801 to get it up to accuracy.
Otherwise a good bit of gear , some programmes available to run it via HPIB via prologix adapter , programme   AT   http://www.ke5fx.com/

Whoah! Watch where that landed we might need it later.
