Hi guys.
I think of buying from this site: http://www.rigol.eu/products/digital-oscilloscopes/ds1000Z/ds1054z/ (http://www.rigol.eu/products/digital-oscilloscopes/ds1000Z/ds1054z/)
They require users to ask for a quote. I asked and now I am waiting for their reply.
Any ideas or better alternatives?
Thanks

In Europe you have Batronix and Meilhaus in Germany, rigol-uk in the UK, Setup Electronica in Spain...
All of them show the prices on the web page, and it seems that Rigol keeps a tight leash on pricing, because all of them are the same. I got my DS1074Z from Setup Electronica (Spain) but it seems they have a poor stock level.

You can also check Batterfly in Italy (I got mine from them, good price and sales support):

+1 for batterfly, but email them beforehand to check if they really are in stock.... actually take this as an habit.
> in stock, added to basket, order, pay
> get an email from sales department "thank you for your purchase, but i'd like to remind you that the product will be available -one month from order-"
> go back to product page, now displays "back in stock in -one month from order-"
-
Wowww. Lots of response here!!! Thank you all of you guys...
Looks like all the aforementioned shops sell at exactly the same price! Good to see that there are many European members here !!!

What about RLX in Slovakia ? They send abroad within EU. They are reliable, I bought DS1054Z from them.
http://rlx.sk/en/ (http://rlx.sk/en/)
Reasonable shipping charges:

I will recommend this.
http://www.silcon.cz/index.php?route=common/home (http://www.silcon.cz/index.php?route=common/home)
He is also here in forum well known " Drieg "
After then you perhaps know what is difference between "customer care" and Customer Care.
First: He really know these things technically and deeply and if you ever need help you get real support. (you may also know if you go back to "old times" history in this forum)
Also you may ask something more (EEVblog member and so on....)
Disclaimer: I have not any relationship with Silcon company but I have very extremely own personal experience.

The Czech shop http://www.silcon.cz/index.php?route=common/home (http://www.silcon.cz/index.php?route=common/home) has the machine for €445 while the Slovak one http://rlx.sk/en/ (http://rlx.sk/en/) has is in the standard 406 (incl VAT).
I don't mind the difference if the customer service is really good and also to support a good member of the forums but I am not sure. I may order straight from the distributor www.rigol.eu (http://www.rigol.eu)
The problem with the above is that I am still waiting for a quote in my email inbox. This is not good.
Thanks all for your wonderful replies!

I've ordered about 5 times from Batronix. Top notch every time.
-
I bought mine at conrad.ch (or conrad.de for EU shoppers) - they sometimes do a 12% promotion on all products, so I got a really good price - when you are willing to wait a bit ;)

+1 satisfied Batronix customer here. Quick delivery, friendly and responsive email contact.

They'll forward it to your local dealer.

I have no local dealer. Lets see how they handle it. They haven't replied yet.

Have a look at the shipping expenses as well. There are some vendors who offer free shipping within the EU for goods starting at a certain value - Batronix does, I don't knowt the others.
Cheers,
Thomas

?? Tom. Yes I have noticed that. Meanwhile I got an email from rigol.eu with a quote that ships directly from China and takes 2 weeks delivery. I am trying to make a decision thanks to your kind replies and suggestions !

If you are in the European Union, beware shippings from China. Customs can be a real pain in the ass, delaying deliveries for two weeks or even more.
And you will have to pay VAT and some custom processing fees. In Spain at least custom processing fees can reach 20 euro or even more.
Buying from a dealer inside the EU is much easier. Just pay attention to the prices, some are displayed with the VAT included, others without VAT.

Yes I know that ! It is a real pain. The VAT is paid at reception plus other Custom clearance and like you said other stupid fees. Excluding the fact that you need to wait 1 month for the delivery.

If they ship it from China, then they shouldn't charge you with VAT, or if they do, they must pay all of the customs fees. Otherwise it makes no sense.

The distributor does not charge VAT of course...

Hello guys.
Thanks for your suggestions. I finally placed my order with batronix.de because of good comments of some of you here and also because it does not charge for delivery.
Waiting impatiently for my new rigol DS1054Z !!!

Rapid Electronics in the UK also occasionally stock them.
-
:-+ The box has just arrived by DHL and I got it in my car's boot. ^-^
Now I am looking for an easy way to learn its functions. I haven't opened its box yet.
Talk to you soon.

It's a pain in the ass to order from them. I wanted some gear from them. They accept only wire transfer. No card payment, no paypal, nothing.
I had to create an € account, wire the money, more actually that it was because nobody was able to tell me what are the commissions.
I end up paying more than 10% for a 600€ order.
Until they fix this, I advise against it.

Unfortunately these shops never learn. You end up paying for a mistake with them.

That's interesting, I didn't know it, I paid in €uros. But it doesn't really surprise me, slovak/czech businessmen are usually stupid with low-quality services.
"Customer entered our doors ? Nahhhh, why ???".
OT: When I saw Black Books for the first time and Bernard was disturbed by customers, I had to rewind it a few times to get it. It was no joke, it was the slovak reality.

My uncle, a Romanian, is 100% Bernard except Slivovitz instead of wine. This checks out. He also hates customers. Which is fine as he's a night security guard so you don't want them :)
