That said, if the new scope is only a few months out, then KS is likely already sharing details with and doing demos for "special customers"

So, Dave might have one already?
Definitely knows more than he shares here?

How's Dave a special customer? 99.999999% of EEVBlog members will not buy that new KS stuff outright because they simply cannot afford it.

But potential customers may well watch an EEVBLOG review

Yes, Dave is very special to us at Rohde & Schwarz :)
And there are a lot of people (like myself) who are here as hobbyists but who also work professionally with test and measurement instruments.
Even before I started working in T&M, I still enjoyed watching and learning about equipment, instruments, etc. that I would never be able to buy with my own money (or even touch). I don't think it's that different from other hobbies (sports cars, boats, planes, etc.) :)

I came across this forum because of the detailed reviews of the Rigol DS1000Z, which was almost 6 years ago.
The cameras in the "studio" have improved over the years, the reviews haven't and now there is nothing that I would call a review.
I unscrew it and then screw it back together again and play around with it a bit, which is too meagre, at least for me.
And potential customers in these price ranges aren't interested in what something looks like on the inside, they're interested in the performance, what the device can do, that's shown, ideally in a comparison.
