Yep. Tek did that, and involved the customers in the design requirements process, I think they talk about it in my impromptu talk with Andy Tedd about the 2 series:

I came across this forum because of the detailed reviews of the Rigol DS1000Z, which was almost 6 years ago.
The cameras in the "studio" have improved over the years, the reviews haven't and now there is nothing that I would call a review.

Not sure if I ever signed an NDA with Keysight, but in any case I'm under the professional honor system. But I can say what I don't have, and I don't have a new Keysight scope.
But yes it is common for companies to send products to the engineering channels before release.
Daniel has teased on X that some new product is coming. Keysight espresso machine?
