I could make a list of everything I don't like about this webshop (compared to Batterfly, Batronix, Siglent.eu...), but I don't think anyone would be interested.

:(
So you judge a book by its cover ?  :-//

This attitude will continue the decline of local suppliers to the detriment of all.

When in doubt just a phone call will answer many questions you have nagging you.
We get them all the time when what our website conveys is insufficient to those that come looking.

What he's saying is pretty standard for building consumer trust. A professional website is a must; it's the first step in building trust. Then the communication is even more important. If a consumer reaches out to a reseller (which is less likely with a bad website), and can't get a response before purchasing a product, all trust is immediately lost. It doesn't matter why they don't respond, the end result is that there was no response. If a potential customer doesn't feel communication is good before giving away their money, they definitely won't expect it to be better after giving away their money.

Well, you could also say: "There is no second chance for a first impression".

It starts with very superficial things.
For example, there is no scope series called SDS800A, as far as I know.

Then put something in the shopping cart and click on another page in the menu. Can you somehow get back to the shopping cart? No. You can add another product to the shopping cart so that you get a "View Cart" link again. This is unkind and suggests that hardly anyone orders there, otherwise it would have been fixed long ago.

Then there are no links to shipping and payment methods.
Under "Impresssum" you will find a link to the terms and conditions, an 11 year old PDF where it more or less says that the store is allowed to do everything and you have no rights.
You have to pay in advance by bank transfer. "...YOTAVIS AG reserves the right to adjust the prices if the delivery/service takes place later than four months after conclusion of the contract."

I could go on and on. It's all very questionable for me.
I don't even want to start with delivery times and warehousing.
I mean, at Batterfly, for example, I know that they have 6 items of SDS804X HDs in stock at the moment.
At Batronix I know at least that I have to wait up to 2 months.

I mean, why do you buy domestically?
For reasons of legal certainty and in case of returns.
I don't see any guarantee of that here.

That sounds like a potential nightmare. No thanks! Order from NZ, that guy is great. 😉

I just had a look at their website, and they seem to be specialising in large industrial clients (B2B) and primarily RF/DataComm/GNSS market. The Siglent scopes look just like a little side business for them. Those companies usually don't use a website to take orders, but instead a sales person attends the client, collects requirements and sends quotes. Have you tried calling them directly? I am sure a phone call will get things moving.

Triotest was the AU longtime distributor until merged with IPD.
One of their 3 founding partners, Charles used to take new models to Dave for review.
AFAIK all are now retired or passed.

For some years Triotest, Wavecom and Appvision were all Siglent resellers but AFAIK Triotest was master AU distributor.
Obviously Appvision, now as listed a distributor like us in NZ, seems now to be the master distributor.

I had such a bad experience with IPD I will never go near them again.

Appvision have been great.
