Which "cheap" high voltage probe to buy?
« on: September 05, 2019, 12:21:15 pm »
Hi, i want to measure 2 Mosfet gates after an active PFC (around 400V) output . I try to repair a Manson SDP-2405. Active PFC -> Stepdown  (Q7 / Q8 ) see attachement.
To measure the gate of the "upper" Mosfet i need a high voltage probe (>400V Vgs highside switch)..

A differential high voltage probe is a bit expensive only for this measurment.

So i want to buy 1 or 2 "High-Voltage Probes" 100:1 (i think less than 1MHz BW required).

Which one is a good, "cheap" one?

It should be save for the expected voltage (don't want to destroy my scope (max. 300V RMS in)).

I found the P2300C or P2301C from Cleqee on ali express (maybe the p4100 ?) or a testec TT-HV150 / TT-HV250 ?

Do you have other probes in mind which can fit my needs?

Ideally to be properly covered you should have both a 100:1 probe and a differential probe.

Any gawds amount of cheap 100:1 probes will do the job and the Pintek DP-25 is fine for a cheap Differential probe.

What is the difference between the Testec HV-150 and HV-250? Beside the voltage and 5€ ? I think everybody will buy the 250..

And what is the difference between Testec HV-150/250 or the Cleqee P2300 for around 35-45€ and the cheap P4100 things (15-20€) ?

Only Build quality?
