I am thinking of buying a VNA for hobby use. I can see that there are multiple options such as liteVNA, nanoVNA, libreVNA. My budget is limited so would like to settle with a nanoVNA.
There seem to be two websites claiming the ownership of nanoVNA, https://nanovna.com/ and https://nanorfe.com/nanovna-v2.html. Which one sells the genuine one?

I think you need to read those web sites more carefully. The nanovna2 FAQ says that it is a completely different design than the original nanovna. These are two different products with different specs and a different heritage.
I am only personally familiar with the original nanovna, which satisfies my needs and works quite well. We have a few at work to use as 'emergency backups' if a FieldFox dies when doing field work, and I also have one I bought for myself. If you get one you should buy from the vendors that their site recommends to make sure you don't get a fake. I don't know anything about the nanovna2.

I would also like to get a VNA, and there's lots of clones, of all prices. I found the Tindie store and see the $300 NanoVNA V2 Plus4, it says it's good up to 4.4GHz. The original was closer to 900MHz or 1.6GHz.
I have FFT on my scope, so I'm not in a rush to get something like a Siglent spectrum analyzer SSA3021X plus, that can be upgraded or hacked to include the VNA functions, if I read that right. But then again I was going to upgrade my sds1204X-E scope, for about the same price. I don't really have to do that, but I don't really really need a real SA or VNA yet, it would collect dust most of the time. I guess I'd have to buy a bunch of over priced accessories too.
Any other good options to consider, or is the NanoVNA V2 Plus4 good enough for most stuff under 1GHz ? It does better than 1st nanoVNA, under 1GHz too. Anything similar in price/performance but in a benchtop model with a bigger screen ? It seems the NanoVNA V2 Plus4 comes with the basic adapters/cables, so thats nice.
