I have a Tektronix 2336 (100 MHz) that I currently use with a set of Hantek 200MHz probes. I'm happy with the Hantek's, but I can pick up a set of Tektronix P6105's for very cheap. Any reason to bother with the Tek's?

If those probes are used then don't bother. Used probes are like used underwear. You don't know what happened to them...

P6105 probes have a coding pin for the 10x attenuation. Digital readout of the 2236 makes use of this to scale the readout. So yes, unless you disabled the coding on the 2236, they are a nice upgrade.

I have the 2336 (not the 2236), and I don't believe it had the coding capability.

Must have misread the scope type no. Tek 2336 doesn't have a buildin dvm, so no coding pin contact.
