Hi,
I want to start making dc/dc converters and i'm sure a tool i'll eventually need is an electronic load. In my first experiments i've got by with capacitors and power resistors but i'm not sure they are the best tools for measuring load transients.
While the theory and electronic design is somewhat trivial (well, not really true but it's not that hard) and lots of information on the theory side is available.. i still really suck at enclosures, panels and what not.
hence the need for a kit or some used unit (or new! but cheap, in the sub 150 range)
want/need:
-programmable, or some other way to simulate transients (need)
-bnc or test lead output to look at current (want)
-i don't plan going over than 15V rails, 2-4 Amps max so 60W max power at least? (i can also start small and limit myself to 30W
if i made a dual output PS and wanted to test a load transient like insertion of a module that affects both rails... would i need two (sync'd) loads, right?
Re:Load Pro is the only project i was able to find. will look after old stuff to feed my TEA (Test Equipment Addiction)
