Why no offset functionality in 3-1 wave generators?

(1/1)

RAPo:
There is an exuberant supply of 3-in-1 devices (oscilloscope/multimeter/wave generator).
I've noticed that very few devices have a waveform generator with variable off-set functionality.

Why is that? I would happily pay some extra dollars if that was included.

indman:
RAPo, I think that a multifunctional device that would combine the full-fledged high characteristics of an oscilloscope, multimeter and generator would cost much more than anything that the Chinese industry now offers. Therefore, to reduce the cost of a 2-1 or 3-1 device, the emphasis is usually placed on the functionality that the manufacturer considers a priority. For example, I bought the ZT-703S because I was mainly interested in the excellent design and characteristics of the multimeter. The oscilloscope's capabilities are also quite good, but there are still questions about the software and the correctness of the measurements. As for the generator, it is of no interest to me and its modest capabilities will rarely be in demand. ;)
