| Why there's no any bus analyzers plugins for Tektronix TDS5000.7000 series scop |

Hello my friends. There's ton's of plugins for these series of scopes, but i didn't find any low speed bus analysers rs-232 e.t.c. Why? I can't find any reason's. |

If these functions is necessary, you just need to replace your oscilloscope. |

No, i means is there any hardware/software problems with extracting and decoding the data from beam? |

At the time these were in production, there wasn't a big call for that type of device. RS232 pretty much topped out at 9600 baud and there really weren't any other serial protocols. Parallel buses could be handled by a logic analyzer, and there was a LA plugin (7D02) available. HP made a GPIB analyzer, but it was pretty limited compared to what you might find now (sigrok and a $10 Saleae clone will run rings around the HP device). With some work you could use a high end LA to decode parallel buses, but it really wasn't in the state of the art at that point. Note: I'm assuming you're referring to the Tek 7000 and 5000 series here. |
