As a SIGLENT customer, you have a chance to win an X-Series oscilloscope or generator by simply submitting an honest product review of any SIGLENT instrument to websites which have places for customer comments. This contest begins immediately (May 11th, 2020) and runs until May 11th, 2021.
Drawing rules:
All you need to do is to write an honest review of your SIGLENT product after you purchase it on any sales website which has places for customer comments. Send us an email to register, which should include the screenshot and link of your review and also the serial number of your instrument. Our email address is sales@siglent.com. The more reviews you write, the more chances you have to win.
There will be 4 rounds in the Review Activity, and the winner will be announced every three months. The prize will be either a SIGLENT SDS1104X-E (100 MHz) Digital Oscilloscope or a SDG2042X (40 MHz) Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generator! Your choice!
SIGLENT will release a video of the drawing process to be published on YouTube for everyone to see.
- For convenience, please title your email as SIGLENT Review from your name. For example: SIGLENT Review from Tom Smith.
- Each SIGLENT instrument has its own serial number. You can find the serial number on the rear panel of instrument.
Show your strengths:
If you are a video production enthusiast, you can make a video as a Review and upload it to YouTube. Send us your screenshot and link of your video to: sales@siglent.com
This part is independent of the above, which means you can participate in both sections.
There will be 2 rounds in this part. And the winner will be announced every six months. The prize is an SDS2104X Plus oscilloscope!

It would appear that, those who may have purchased their Siglent gear through ebay, or similar type suppliers, are not eligible for this drawing, because there is no way to recover or create a comment screen shot for the submission. Is this true? :-//

I agree. Full names shouldn't be posted here unless they agreed, and there is no real need for it anyway. Preferably it should be forum usernames.

I agree with you on this.
I will make sure the factory guys understand this. I do think their intent was good - to let those who had registered know which (group of 10) they were in but we should have never used full names.

Thanks for doing that, but since I'm not a Siglent costumer I don't qualify since obviously I can't write a review about a Siglent product.
I'm happy with the choices of equipment I made so far so these customer only contests are not opening any doors for potential customers that use competitors hardware.

I have never looked at the Siglent America web site. Very nice firmware downloads, product information, manuals all on the one page! Congrats that is very good, no hunting required.

SDS2074-FG ... is approx the price of a keysight DSOX2002A ... hmmm ... i thought SDS-2xxx price ranges are to combat rigols? no?
Keysight DSOX2002A is 2 channel model. with 0.1M acquire memory (or optional 1M)
SDS2074 is four channel having max 14M acquire memory for all channels simultaneously. or max 28M for 2 channel ssimultaneously and it can do 2GSa/s for two channels simultaneously..
Keysight can save up to 250 segments and around up to 50k segments/s speed. It is option.
Siglent can save up to 80000 segments and up to over 400k segments/s speed. It is standard, not option.
Keysight can do mask test up to 50k waveforms/s speed, This is option.
Siglent can do mask test up to 110k waveforms/s speed. This is standard
If look Rigol 1000Z or 2000 these can do slowly some mask tests in one second? (Siglent have hardware based full speed mask test so of course it is like from different world)
If talk about these features speed, Siglent can run around this Keysight when it walk. If look Rigol mask test (DS1000Z, DS2000) it can fly to moon when Rigol is still thinking to wake up.
So, what is price and what are user needs and so on. If I need quite fast segmented acquire or if I need fast mask test - what we then compare. This named Keysight or some low end Rigol? If look some other features/functions, what we then compare?
Yes, I have also Rigol. Rigol 1074Z model because its some features together with its price pass for my some specified needs - with these special needs this brand and model was right solution evet that it is 250MSa/s with 4 channels).
For some other needs Siglent pass (and is much more expensive).
It need compare these features what user need and related to these needs look prices.
It is not so simple to compare......

I wouldn't recommend looking at an SDS2000 before Siglent has published new firmware despite the nice promotional discount.

I have an additional PCB for probe skew correction and pre-print User manual edits that go with the Power Analysis option and have been asked to evaluate PA option for Siglent and report back.
This strongly indicates to me that the new Firmware is close to release.
This is my first exerience with PA and it seems a very powerful option and fully featured.
For any existing shortcomings with the SDS2000 series it seem like Siglent will address these in the very near future. This is what I have been told.

IIRC Wuerstchenhund did a short introduction on power analysis with his Lecroy scope. It looked interesting being able to look at harmonic distortion and so on. I think I should spend one 'trial credit' on it.

i saw that, it is also the reason i contacted my local distro to ask about it, it does sound like a itching good deal ... but as i expected, they (local distro) did not say anything about it, they did not indicate it is inclusive. (sometimes i really hate all my local distros and resellers, its like they are thugs or something cos they know they are a distributor and you have no choice :-//)
the model i officially inquired was SDS2074-FG, they officially quoted me approx USD1500 (or exceeding 1.5k if include local sales tax). FG option is included (@ approx USD170)
The SDS2074-FG(70 MHz) Siglent RRP is US$1356 + shipping/taxes etc BUT Siglent will upgrade this to SDS2104-FG (100 MHz)for free.
Re Youtube videos, unless they are of a recent date, it is likely they are not using the last firmware release: 35.1.
Marmad & Nctnico's SDS2000 review threads in this forum and the resultant list of bugs AFAIK is the remaining known bug fixes required. rf-loop may have informed Siglent of others, I do not know.

If you inquire directly to Siglent, they will refer their local supplier to you.
They do this for me.
If any distributor orders a unit for you(not in their stock)the free upgrades should apply.
The official offer expires Feb 15 2015.

Did you try futu-tech.de? That is where I bought my SDG1010. They list all prices including VAT so I guess they aim at individuals.
@3roomlab: if you are not in a hurry you could wait until the end of this month to see if Siglent comes with a firmware update of the SDS2000 series. Despite it's shortcomings it is a nice oscilloscope for a rock bottom price. BTW the last time I visited Singapore (over a decade ago) I went hunting for cheap PC parts only to find the prices where 20% higher compared to the prices back home.

aha ... well looks like a similar problem. the local distro initially is also not interested to offer to me because i am not a "company" entity ... :-//
i think i spot a solution .... i would like to offer my services to siglent as worldwide sales manager to solve this problem ... no no no i am joking :-DD ... sorry but a bit of crude joke :P but it is a real problem for siglent, they need to pull up their pants abit more imo for the sake of the resellers etc
Some equipment suppliers provide worldwide delivery and this could be your solution.
Others provide a "drop shipping" service but the recipient is usually subject to any customs and local taxes.
Your local distributor MAY have a policy of only selling to retailers, so you will have to locate them.
Maybe with further inquiry to them or Siglent?
Do some homework on your import charges and somebody here can maybe supply you via drop shipping. Import charges may apply.
It would not be my intention to step on another distributors toes, but if they do not have an adequate supply chain in place to end users............

I have chosen NOT to order at futu-tech.de aka massmarkt.de for several reasons:
a) they do not have good reputation, b) they do not speak my language, c) they are located near Hamburg Haven where all chinese resellers just shove boxes around, d) support is basically non-existant, e) just look at their website as a native german speaker...
I much prefer a renown company selling me stuff which gives me confidence in their support and that they still exist in >2 years. Sadly plug-in.de which is one of those doesn't sell to individuals. IMHO Siglent must be present on stores like e.g. Koenig, Reichelt, Conrad, ELV to be recognized as a serious brand. Least that's what I'd aim for.

Robust inquiry to your supplier will ensure it is no gamble.
I had notification of the upgrade offers some weeks ago and applied them for a recent SDS2000 supply.
However I see some possible difficulties in communicating with distant suppliers to ensure one gets the specials offered. Just be carefull with the wording of your inquiries to prevent misunderstandings.

Actually, the program is in effect until June 1, 2015, so you're still good to go! I see we have 2 more we need for this round.

I wrote my review last week and was informed I was number 9 in drawing number 4.
I have the SDS1052DL and like it very much. Would really like to have a better manual but can't find anything online. If anyone here has a better manual could you tell me where you found it?
Is there a way to clear the screen on this scope after capturing a single signal and have it ready to accept the next input? If I press the single button the screen clears but then the scope won't respond to the next attempt to capture a signal.

As to my problem of clearing the screen and then grabbing another signal I found that having the trigger set correctly solves a lot of problems. With the trigger set you just have to press the run/stop button to clear the screen and then the new signal triggers when you turn the red light out.

Just received my Free Siglent Generator today. Looks very nice and it's very easy to use. Controls are all very intuitive and easy to navigate. Only one question, and I will search the Siglent Tech Thread and the SDG1000 thread for some help. When I turn the generator on it asks you to select a language. I select English and then I go into the "Utility"- "System" menu and select English and then select "Last Configuration" on startup. I also set up the way it displays numbers in this menu. When I turn the generator off and then back on it again asks me to select a language. It has remembered how to display numbers but has not remembered the language selection. I am probably just not doing something right so will search the other threads for an answer. Firmware is the latest from Siglent. Other than this minor annoyance I am thrilled with the generator so far.

This is a change in the latest firmware. It does remember the language but it asks you anyway. On power up you can hit any button to skip the question including pressing or turning the rotary encoder. Whatever button you press will count as it's primary action so it doesn't necessarily require any extra button presses, but it does look sort of strange.
I suppose this way of prompting for the language was implemented to get around the problem of finding the language setting in the utilities menu when you don't know the currently displayed language. Not a bad idea, but somewhat unconventional.

I guess if that's the way it's supposed to work I'll just have to live with it but it's a real annoyance and Siglent needs to correct this in the next update. The manual shouldn't say this works if it doesn't.

The language selection is on power up on the sdg1025 as well. Ridiculously annoying. Ruins the satisfaction of the fast boot time. Please get rid of it Siglent.
Also am waiting for the sdm3055 fixes. Anyway, its 2 am. Time to go sleep and dream of new firmware. :=\ :-DMM :-+

I did write a review of the SDG2042X that I purchased from TEquipment. However, I can't submit it because TEquipment did not post it. I had good things to say about the siggen, but bad things to say about the service from TEquipment. Looks like they are cherry picking reviews.

What will you pick for your prize?
Be aware there have been improvements to the SDS1000X range with addition of the new Plus models that have 16 channel LA functionality.
These are offered for the same price as the previous S models that had an inbuilt AWG.
You may have to purchase the 16 channel LA pod and the enabling option code but Siglent Hamburg can advise you.

The S Version is already an upgrade to what I have home, so even if it is not a + serie, I am more that happy . it's a wonderful gift.

Wow! I cannot believe I won the Siglent contest. I've waited in anticipation for quite a while and am going to be very happy to add a new SDS X scope to my line up. Up until now, I've been using my crusty old Tek 2465B. I'll still keep it around, but it'll be nice to be in the 21st century with a digital scope! interestingly, i entered for the second review draw (november 2020), email sent off to sales@siglent.com on 21st October 2020. included in my email was a screenshot of the review (on amazon), along with two links to the review, plus the serial number of my scope. i didn't receive any confirmation of my entry, but then you don't normally expect that from such competitions.
for a laugh, today i clicked through to the video link of the (november 2020) prize draw, and slow-motioned through it checking the numbers/names cycled through. every number between 1 and 19 showed up multiple times, but none of the names even remotely resembled my own :--
am a tad disappointed, i wonder how many other entries got similarly 'lost' in the ether.
