XY mode not working on Agilent 54622D

(1/1)

Victor11035:
Recently I just bought an Agilent 54622D scope, but after playing around with it I noticed that when setting it to XY mode nothing happens. No dot, no line, absolutely nothing. I did notice though that if I do a single trigger in the main mode with both channels active, then switch to XY mode, it will display what it should. But if I then press Run/Stop, it will clear the screen and continue to display nothing at all. I've tried changing the voltage divisions, and going into the menus, but I can't seem to find anything useful. After looking into some service manuals, I noticed that there was something about the external trigger controlling whether the display is visible, but there is nothing connected to the external trigger and there doesn't seem to be anything visibly wrong with it. I have also tried the self-test, which it has passed. The only thing is that I am unable to perform a User Cal due to "Digital Thresholds", but I have no idea what that means nor if these issues are connected in any way. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

I don't have this scope, but some general suggestions. Is the scope set to normal or auto trigger mode? Is the scope triggering without XY mode enabled? Is it displaying two signals then?

Wallace Gasiewicz:
Before you try XY make sure that you have traces on the two channels you are comparing and make sure that you have one or twofvull waves shown

It seems to be triggering fine and displaying both channels for the other modes (Main, Delayed, Roll). The trigger options also seem to be locked out during XY mode, as anything related to triggering just displays a message saying "The selection is not available in this mode".

Both traces are showing up fine and working well in the other modes, which is why I'm confused why XY mode isn't working.
