A most unusual use of a TIC - hoax detection - 3rd breast
« on: September 14, 2019, 11:25:00 am »
Whilst hunting for information on a French thermal camera I just stumbled on this news story.

A novel use of a thermal imaging camera to expose a fraudulent claim/Hoax by a women who said she had three breasts !

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2966012/Three-breasted-woman-lying-evidence-thermal-camera-shows-breast-no-blood-circulating-footage-shows-final-demolition-claims.html

That’s is a new application of this technology to me !

Technically you could also go around spotting prosthetic limbs, and even where people have applied concealer with the same method,

I'm still having a fun time thinking of someone walking up, saying "Can I take a picture", and then whipping out a Flir-E4

Me thinks the girl got the idea from the original “Total Recall” film !

I see the scene was retained in the remake of Total Recall. This is the actress showing off her costume at an event.

Hopefully the two real ones hidden somewhere underneath (rather than integrated into) that prosthesis.  :scared:

For total recall, I cannot see how it could work without them starting with a pretty flat chest,

For the photos Fraser gave, they have to be at least mostly the real things, as otherwise all 3 would be similarly cold.

Edit: Also the first photo is bugging me, Unless its some weird lens correction, It really looks like here eyes are pointing away from one another.

edit2: a quote from the total recall actress
Quote
All three mammary glands are fake. In fact, the prosthetic is a large chest plate that starts at the neck and goes down to my belly button. This huge piece is applied using spirit gum on the very thin ends of this porous, spongy piece. It took between five and eight hours to apply. Needless to say my call times were 3:30 am! They'd lay me down in a dentist-style chair that reclines back. And two makeup artists would have at me while I napped. The makeup room was very private. No one but me, my three boobs and the artists at hand.

The daft lass thought she could fool the World. Investigations revealed she lost something very personal in her baggage in 2014 ........

“Scrutinised: Many commentators have claimed the third breast is a wearable prosthetic, especially as Tridevil once reported a '3 breast prosthesis' stolen when her bags went missing at Tampa Airport in 2014”

Oooops! A bit of a giveaway  ;D

The actresses in “Total Recall” were not truly bare chested. They wore a whole chest prosthesis. As to how well endowed those ladies were before application of the chest piece, I could not say.

But being serious for a moment, modern silicon body part prosthetics are amazing and a very important part of helping people who have been in some way disfigured. A prosthetic can provide them with the confidence to socialise without concern. Wonderful technology, likely born out of the amazing special effects teams who work on film productions  :-+

Thermal imaging can reveal anomalies when viewing a person. There has been research into the medical use of thermal cameras since the 1970’s. It was used to image blood circulation in limbs and also differential breast analysis in connection with tumour detection. Thermal imaging is still an important tool in the detection of travellers who may be running a temperature due to a contagious disease. Veterinary science also includes thermography of such animals as horses in an effort to identify areas of inflammation or injury in their very fragile legs. It is not a magic wand type tool but it can aid in the diagnosis or early spotting of ailments that cause thermal change in the patients body.

I have several modern and well respected medical thermography books that a nurse gave to me. She was specialising in the medical applications of thermal cameras. Very interesting reading. Many Delta T generating illnesses can be diagnosed without the thermal camera but the camera provides visual information in order to better understand the situation in research and practice. People with colds know they have a cold, but seeing the face of such a person through a themal camera can be very impressive !

Raynauds syndrome...

One of the engineer managers at EEV had that, in one finger.  Borrowed a camera to take to the doctors.

I don't dare to discuss 3 breasted women with the chance of being haunted online by the methree movement  :)

Rubber bands bridge the gap between WD40 and duct tape.
