Questions about FLIR TG267

According to the official specs https://www.flir.com/products/tg267/ it has USB connectivity and Bluetooth connectivity, and is compatible with FLIR Tools software. This begs a question though. What exactly is the nature of that connectivity? Does it only allow transfer of still pictures to the PC? Does it allow control of the camera via FLIR Tools (or does it just act as a viewer for already captured images)? Does it allow you to record an MP4 video file (or even raw radiometric video video as an SEQ file) via FLIR Tools? And which types of connectivity are permitted via USB versus Bluetooth (or are they both the same type of connectivity)? By itself, the device only seems to be able to capture radimetric JPEGs to an SD card, so what significant extra features (if any) are made available with PC connectivity via USB or Bluetooth?

Sadly, the basic info provided by the specs on the official webpage for the FLIR TG267 answered NONE of these questions. So that's why I'm asking here on the EEVBlog forums. If anybody here on the forum has experience with FLIR TG267 and its PC connectivity via USB and/or Bluetooth, and using it with FLIR Tools software, please answer the above questions. Thanks in advance.

The camera stores images to the flash memory and they may be sent by the camera over Bluetooth or accessed, just like on a USB Flash drive, from a PC using the USB lead. There is no support for video streaming or remote control of the camera.

Ok. Then what does it mean by compatible with FLIR Tools? The specs say it's compatible with FLIR Tools.
Also, are the JPEGs just plain JPEGs (screenshot of the camera's LCD display)? Or are they radiometric JPEGs with the raw microbolometer data embedded in the JPEG file?

FLIR tools is just an image display and basic analysis utility. It takes a FLIR image and shows it to you with any radiometric content also made available. You can apply different LUT’s etc but compatibility does not mean that there is remote control or streaming provided for every camera that it supports. FLIR Tools is FLIR’s free universal image display utility. FLIR Tools+ adds extra functionality to make it more useful.

The datasheet clearly states that the saved image file is a JPEG with spot temperature data. That would suggest that the file is just a jpeg with a radiometric element telling FLIR Tools the position and temperature of the spot metering function. I see nothing about fully radiometric JPEG files so safe to assume that is not provided.

The specs in the user manual states that the output file is JPEG with Meta-Data tag containing the spot temperature data.

By the way, the 57 degree FOV on this camera that has 160 x 120 pixels is pretty large and so the IFOV is not wonderful. This can effect its usefulness in some situations.

Might then be better for close-up things, like inspecting the temperatures of components on circuit boards? What's its focal distance? If it has a fixed-focus at infinity, it won't be good for close-up work either. Then it would only be good for large things at a long distance (of which I can't think of too many things that fit that category).

It is just a fixed focus lepton with minimum focus of 0.3m.

Shame that its non-Radiometric! Imagine the power it would carry with RM imagery! I hope they do it soon for a slightly higher price tag.
