Post by: sairfan1 on August 09, 2023, 04:28:33 pm
I'm looking to buy some used Flir Thermal Camera, I want to know what model or feature I must consider to make sure it will be a useful tool for my lab.

I want to use it for electronics projects like monitoring components getting hot
for used my budget is $200 to $250 (still cheaper is better).

I realize they aren't USB interface, but I humbly suggest my open-source tCam-Mini or tCam cameras.  They are Wifi enabled so you can view and export data on desktop or mobile and there is a python driver if you want to incorporate radiometric data into your own app.  I actually designed them for my own lab work.

Design and firmware: https://github.com/danjulio/tCam (https://github.com/danjulio/tCam)

You can buy them from Group Gets: https://store.groupgets.com/products/tcam-mini-rev4-wireless-streaming-thermal-camera-board (https://store.groupgets.com/products/tcam-mini-rev4-wireless-streaming-thermal-camera-board) or https://store.groupgets.com/products/tcam-kit (https://store.groupgets.com/products/tcam-kit)
