Quite a while a go I bought one of these autoliv nv2 modules from a car parts dealer, quite happily as it had quite a decent price compared to the average on eBay, a little over a hundred euro's.
It was sold as "used, in good condition". I can't find the picture.
The front window was missing, which didn't worry me to much, I have seen lots with the cracked or missing front. But cosmetically it looked decent and it had all the black plastic covers attached.
Obviously I wouldn't post here if it was in good condition, it turned out to be, what the dutch call: "een kat in de zak" (of leergeld)
Which would translate to "a cat in a bag" which probably sounds like cute social media nonsense, but the autoliv is far from cute, it's in bad shape, the coating appears damaged and there appears to be some oxidation on the back.
Would the lens be somewhat salvageable and how would one best "get to work" on this? Should I soak it in some liquid?
I tried the gentle rub with lens cleaning fluid, even a slightly stronger rub, but this has not had any effect.
