Dumb Question about FLIR HS324 Commander
jonathan2549:
I know they are not ding updates for this camera amymore but I was wondering how did they update it? Also is there a menu I can access while the camera is on? Also does anyone have the Firmware since FLIR doesn't have it online anymore?
Fraser:
Updates to the firmware are via the SDCard. The firmware update is placed in the root of the SDCard, the card inserted in the slot and the unit set to the firmware update mode. It reads the contents of the SDCard and applies the update.
FLIR did not offer a full firmware file set for these units, only a patch to address a system lock-up issue that early units suffered from.

Ok cool and thank you very much. Is there a menu onboard that can access the time and date. I would like to set it.
Fraser:
From memory, you need the FLIR “End User Graphical User Interface” software that they used to provide on the dedicated HS series web page. The camera/scope is code named “Avalon” and you need the Avalon GUI plus USB driver. The driver and GUI were on the supplied CD. I could not find the Avalon End User GUI on their support site after a quick search. It may be hiding there though.

Fraser:
I will look for the Avalon GUI in my archives. I know I have it and the Original CD somewhere.
