Title: FLIR A50 live view
Post by: Wiljan on December 30, 2023, 03:33:54 pm
I do help a exhibition who have a FLIR A50 which are IP only connection.
https://www.flir.com/products/a50_a70-smart-sensor/?vertical=rd+science&segment=solutions (https://www.flir.com/products/a50_a70-smart-sensor/?vertical=rd+science&segment=solutions)

They want to view the infrared image from the camera live on a large screen where people do stand in front and can see there heat image.

The camera does support to use RTPS stream and when using VLC there are like 2 sec of latency which are not acceptable.

When connecting by the web interface there is a live view of the camera and by looking in the code of the webpage (F12) it clear that a request like this "http://192.168.1.222/snapshot.jpg?" abd a singe image are downloaded

We have a BrightSign mediaplayer with HDMI out where it possible to make a script with a loop where it request the "http://192.168.1.222/snapshot.jpg?" and then display it on a attached HDMI screen .
This works very good and we might have a latency of a few frames and a good framerate.

BUT this only works if the webpage are open from a PC at the same time. when closing the webpage on the PC the mediaplayer will stop some seconds after.

So I'm looking for what kind of extra request I will need to send from the mediaplayer to have the snapshot to keep working?

I have made a log with "Wireshark" of the minimum PC dialog which is needed to get the "snapshot" working

There is an API for the A50 but when using the request for snapshot it stops working when you request it often
like "http://192.168.1.100/api/image/current?imgformat=JPEG&overlay=off"

I hope someone can advise

Thx
