Title: FLIR C5 or FLIR One Pro?
Post by: Porama6400 on August 13, 2021, 05:56:14 pm
Hello!

I am looking for a thermal camera for PCB designing (and having some fun)
FLIR C5 seems promising to me, but does it worth it? or should I just go with FLIR One Pro?

here, FLIR C5 cost about 1000 USD, while FLIR One Pro is about 500 USD

My budget is preferably 750 USD, 1000 USD max
I'm hoping to get something that will last me the next few years

Thanks for your help :)

Cat S62 is cheaper can a C5 and got far more features.

I would not recommend any FLIR Lepton based cameras.  Even with an added lens. The resolution is just subpar. You can get the Infirqay 12μm core with like twice the pixels

CAT S62 seems like another good option. but it seems like there's problem with microphone and problem connecting to various carrier? Also does it have radiometric jpeg output?

Infiray 12um seems really interesting resolution wise, currently out of stock on Amazon though. review indicated that software is lacking and has to be download via Dropbox? If it is, that would be a deal breaker for me.

FLIR's low end software is total trash. Anything serious you have to pay up for.
Infiray's is a bit better, but the resolution and noise performance are the features to go for.
Aliexpress is the place to buy them.
