Good morning/evening!
I want to buy flir e4 with intention to unlock it to full potential. There ware two models on the market: with wifi and without. How useful is wifi feature? I tried to google it, but found only flir marketing information.
My understanding is, with wifi it can work as wireless camera, is that correct? Without wifi I'd need to use a cable if I want to see pictures on my computer.

On my flir E30 (upgraded to E60) I personally do not find it very useful. The wifi does not support modern encryption like AES, and to work reasonably reliable on my network I had to use a fixed IP address and open some ports on the firewall.
This is off course an older camera (2012), so I am not sure this is still the case for a newly bought E4. But for a typical use case of plotting some temperature over time, I do not mind the USB cable, as I typically have the charging cable connected also. I just bough a long USB cable (5m) so I am not restricted by the location of the laptop in my workshop.
