Flir One G2 Questions

Contemplating purchasing the Flir One G2 (android), but a few things are still holding me back.

1 Is anyone running the Flir One G2 with a permanently attached usb battery booster? I have read the G2 will function when plugged in, but recent reports of overheating have me concerned this may not be ideal as a long term solution. The current 350MaH battery is quite bad, and there are already reports of early failures. I want to make sure if the battery goes bad early, I can still use the device and use the internal battery as a "regulator" only.

2 Is the Flir One official android app the only compatible application for the Flir One G2. I see Frenky has been working wonders with the seek, with a windows app, but I can't find anything else on the android store  that is compatible with the G2. I'd even be willing to get a windows phone if there was a windows app that would restore the full  sensor resolution and give us tailorable temperature ranges.

1. I haven't no problems to run the F1G2 permanently powered over USB. But I think, this kills the internal battery after some times.

2. Use the SDK and write your own F1G2 app. I posted in this forum some tricks, to defeat the crop factor in the app.

@lamercz the developer just sent me a Windows Phone compatible FLIR One SDK library
I’ll test it sometime weekend
if it works I’ll post a demo

I am hoping that by connecting just a battery bank to the Flir One G2 (vs a charger/usb port), the voltage will be lower and it will not overheat the battery as much. Unfortunately I am not a programer. But I would purchase an app if it fixed the few things that are not quite right with the official flir app (no option to set a fixed temperature scale, cropped sensor resolution etc.).

Interesting about the windows phone version. At least there seems to be some movement. Could not find any file to try out though. Maybe I am not looking in the right place?

Is there a way to hack the standard FLIR One app for Android? Is there a settings file (similar to a Windows INI file) that I can edit to remove the crop factor in the app?
