Flir T400 - Strange behaviour after firmware update
« on: June 07, 2022, 09:28:57 am »
Hi all!

I have a Flir T400.

I decided to upgrade the firmware to v9.4.5.

The update took around 15 minutes and was sucessful.

But after this update I noticed the digital camera is very 'jumpy' and fusion mode has lost it's colours (only in black / white background)

When Fusion mode is switched off the camera runs smoothly.

It also looks like fusion mode shrinks the IR image and there is an offset when focusing.

Does any one know what could be wrong?

I upgraded an Flir B360 and saw similar behavior.
The visual camera was shown in full resolution and color. But in Picture in Picture and other "fusion" modes, the visual Image is cropped to fit with the thermal image. If you focus, the visual image is shifted to compensate for parallax issues.
Additionally, it was converted to grayscale, therefore each color like red or blue comes from the thermal image, not from an object in front of the camera.
