Title: Flir TG165 Hacks?
Post by: Relaxe on November 18, 2021, 03:23:09 pm
Hello,

I have just acquired a Flir TG165 from a bargain bin.

Looking here and elsewhere, I could only find bootloading/firmware management tools, but no proper alternate firmware or hacks to unlock new options for it.

Is there hacks or alternate firmware for the TG165 out there?

Thanks!

I am not aware of any firmware alternatives for this unit. It uses a non-Radiometric FLIR Lepton 2.0 imaging core so no Radiometric based options are open to you. The TG165 is a ‘visual thermometer’ and uses a conventional IR thermometer sub system for its temperature measurements, so not much to be upgraded in that department. The colour palettes offered on this unit are few, namely 2 (Monochrome and Hot Iron) so there may be an upgrade avenue there to provide more colour palettes. Apart from that I cannot see much else that could be upgraded. This is likely why you have not seen alternative firmware.
