FLIR Vue Image Processing
(1/1)

Hi all,
Has anyone ever dealt with real - time image processing with the use of the FLIR Vue ? More specifically , can it be integrated with the Rasberry Pi ?
I see that it only has analog video output..so I'm thinking this might be a problem if I want to do any sort of image processing (?)
Any help will be appreciated

From what I understand the Vue is targeted as a simple lightweight turn key solution for drones and other mobile solutions and is only really setup to interface with a PC for configuration and not data capture. It's suppose to pre-process everything and sent it to a analog transmitter to then be sent back to a remote user. Having to capture and reprocess an already processed stream seems like jumping though more hoops.
For interfacing with a RPI I think you are likely better off looking into the Lepton (I think there are already plug and play boards for this) or perhaps a Flir "A" series camera. (I have no idea if the second option supported however.)

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking about the Lepton, but I am a bit worried about its low resolution... (our subject will be around 30 meters away)
