Fotric and Sonel thermal cameras: are they any good?
« on: June 10, 2021, 04:39:52 am »
I was looking at TEquipment.net and saw that there are two new brands of thermal cameras that seem relatively inexpensive. For example, the Sonel KT-400-19 has a 384 × 288 resolution and can measure up to 1,200° C but costs less than $5,000: https://tequipment.net/Sonel/KT-400-19/Building-and-Industrial-Thermal-Imagers

Even better, the Fotric 348A-L25 has a 640 × 480 resolution and can measure up to 1,200° C but only costs around $6,300: https://tequipment.net/Fotric/348A-L25/Building-and-Industrial-Thermal-Imagers

This makes them much cheaper than similar cameras from FLIR and Fluke. They also both look good on paper. However, I couldn't find any reviews for these cameras. Do they actually live up to their claims?
