Hi guys, would love some help in choosing a thermal camera
I've seen a lot on this forum about the E4 being the best camera if you hack it but one question, if I buy a new one off the shelf, is it still hackable? Are the most recent hardware/firmware updates still hackable?
I've found a Flir C5 for about 700USD on the second hand market, and a brand new Flir E4 - XT (if this model is hackable?) is $1180USD here.
There is also the QianLi Super Cam which is a Chinese brand, 160x120 resolution, which seems to rate well.
My main needs are, good enough resolution that I can differentiate hot components that are 1-2mm in size, and that I can use it at a reasonable distance, something in the 10-20cm range.
I really don't know what option I should go for.
