Here is how it was.
It was raining, flir carried in a plastic bag. Through the package I pressed the button (thought) to turn it on, but what buttons I pressed and how many times I turned it on I don't know. No more than 3-4 times pressed - that's for sure. Before that, flirting was in the center measurement setting, and did not turn on for several days. And so, after turning on the device, the measurement mode was activated as in flir e8, simultaneous measurement in the center, and measurement of the maximum point in the square. I repeat the simultaneous measurement. The second temperature was displayed below the first! After turning off the device, naturally, such a mode did not turn on again ... Please, can good people, who already have this information, share how to turn it on?

Hello.
And the hidden mode turned on again ... And we managed to shoot it on video.

So no one knows how to enable this wonderful mode?

That mode is built into the cameras firmware, just as in the E4. It is enabled via changes to the configuration files. Enabling the correct entries in the configuration files should provide this measuring capability plus the menu option to select it. If your camera has the function working but no menu icon to enable/disable it, you would appear to have a partial activation of the function that is activating for reasons not known.
You need to access the cameras file system as done in the FLIR E4 upgrade and download the files for investigation using FileZilla or similar program. Look at the configuration files detailed in the E4 upgrade thread and you will see lots of entries that are set to ‘False’ but may be enabled. It will be your choice which are enabled but you need to look for entries relating to measurements and see if the hot spot tracking is correctly activated. There is a thread on this forum detailing upgrading the resolution of iX series cameras. That thread may assist you in understanding how to access and edit the configuration files in the firmware.
Sadly I do not have an iX Series camera to help you further with this. I am hopeful that you will be able to activate additional functions and menu icons on your camera, as done with the Ex series but I have not attempted such on the iX series so have no first hand experience.

The attached document by ERIK may be of assistance as it applies to the i7 as well :)
The area measurement window and high or low spot tracking are clearly enabled in the menu at the end of the document. Check to see whether this menu already exists in your camera. If not, you can add it as detailed in the document. I have not found it necessary to edit file dates in my upgrades so you can likely ignore that part of the upgrade instructions. Getting the CRC calculation correct is very important ! Look in the E4 teardown thread for detail of the upgrade process CRC calculator etc. The iX upgrade comes from the original E4 upgrade process :-+

Thanks for your feedback.
Unfortunately, I don't understand this ...
I also managed to call (by random button presses) some mode in which it is proposed to save a dump, well, a lot of information about the firmware, and some files.
I tried to go through FTP, there is no access. 192.168.0.2 and further from the file.

Did you set the camera to USB RNDIS mode before trying to access it via FileZilla ?
-
yes, of course rndis. The attempt was through the total commander
By the way, the link from the PDF does not work.
Download Mike's CRC01 tool from: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/flir-e4-thermal- (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/flir-e4-thermal-)

The IP address can differ from that documented in the upgrade guides. You need to look at the connection details and discover what IP address is being used. There is no reason why an iX series camera cannot be accessed via FTP using the known login and password as FLIR did not block such access.
I always use Windows XP or Windows 7 for upgrading cameras as I do not trust Win10 to not mess up the process in some way ! I have learnt through bitter experience that many camera configuration utilities do not play nicely with Win10. The iX upgrade process should be OK with Win10 but whether the IP address assigned will differ or firewall rules interfere with access, I do not know.
You need to crack this FTP access problem to progress with this matter.

Good day.
Unfortunately, it was not possible to get access via FTP. Tried to log in with win7.
The IP address assigned by the camera is not responding. I set the IP address manually, too, there is no response ... That is, in general, as if nothing was connected, no pings or anything.
WinXP could not be installed for verification either ...
-
That is a very unusual situation that I regret I cannot offer any help with. The camera should be seen by the PC and an IP address assigned to it. Maybe the Windows drivers you installed for the camera are not correct for your model ? If it was just the password challenge that was not working I would suggest one of the alternative passwords.

The driver is installed by itself, from 2011, win7x64.
Will I try to install WinXP again, it might work ...
Thank you

Hello. Set a new winxp. Delivered the driver (01/29/2010 ver. 1.0.0.4). The camera is not visible, the IP address is not even assigned. I tried to enter it manually, everything is the same ... What to do??

First thing I would recommend doing is a backup.
Download every file/folder that it will let you download and store them somewhere safe.
(usually some files are blocked from download but that's ok, just ignore those files)
You want to have a backup just in case you accidently delete something or mess something up.
Some of the files are unique to your camera and cannot be replaced if lost.

Thank you. I copied everything using FileZilla Client. How to understand which files to look for. And what lines to look for to edit.
And where can you download the CRC01 generator? While I am reading, my brain is already boiling ...
I want to change .caps.config.menu.measureAreaSubmenuActive bool false to true.
gui.cfg file
But without cc01.exe, what will happen?
Do not understand with this CRC? and where to download it is unknown ...

Flir logo also will be removed?

Are there any programmers? can you know where to look for the condition of pressing the buttons? And can you change it thanks to HIEW?
