Hii. In Flir's TAU manual, it mentions the TAU firmware is field upgradeable, but doesn't say how.
Anybody know or even tried? Thanks.

Inseem to recall reading in the flir documentation for my old HS307 that its done via inserting an SD card with a suitable upgrade file into the unit.

Thank you.
However that's not the correct answer, SD or USB method is for updating the FW on the scout mainboard, not the TAU core, plus, the TAU itself only have serial communication.

I think I have this right...
Tools required
A Tau 2 camera with serial communications either through a Tau VPC module or other serial interface.
Tau Camera Controller GUI https://www.flir.com/support-center/oem/vue-camera-controller-gui (https://www.flir.com/support-center/oem/vue-camera-controller-gui)

How to check what firmware version is loaded?
-
Hello. I would like to know if your software is suitable for all cameras or specifically for 336 or 640. I want to clarify in order not to break my camera, I have a tau2 640 * 512 30 hertz camera. Thanks for the answer.

Thank you so much figment!
I tried it and works!
However there's a small problem, the column noise is visibly higher than before...
May I ask if you have any other version that maybe I can try?

Try using this tool to calibrate
https://www.flir.com/support-center/oem/vue-camera-controller-gui/ (https://www.flir.com/support-center/oem/vue-camera-controller-gui/)
The Flir Camera Controller GUI has a hidden advanced feature requiring key press + password
To display the Advanced Tab press Ctrl+Shift+a
a password box should pop-up
Password is www.flir.com (http://www.flir.com)

Thank you.
I already tweaked with that for the whole day...
I suspect it's the problem with bias.
Even before update, if you set the lens aperture too high, it will have column noise, and if set too low, time constant will be very long. So I already played with that magic parameter for days...
Now after update, I seems cannot get it right, with best value I can guess, the column noise is still way too high...

Okay there is a "gain calibration" tab, but I don't have any blackbody for that...

Hi, anyone knows if it's possible to make(backup) the .pcf and .hex file from a physical TAU core? Thanks.
