Infiray T2 series, trying to understand..
nikitasius:
Hi folks, i try to understand the difference between Infiray T2 models using infiray.com/infirayoutdoor.com , forum and google, so if i'm wrong please correct me :)
* they are all 256x192@12 except T2S with 240x180@12
* they are all 25Hz
* they are all use Matrix III
* they are all have home-made ASIC
Next the difference:
T2L use Germanium monocrystal lenses
T2L have temp -20°C+120°C
T2L have FOV 33.4 it's near 60mm for 35mm lenses (close portrait 85mm, handy)
T2S have temp -20°C+120°C
T2S have FOV 34.8 it's near 57mm for 35mm lenses (bit more than an eye)
T2S lenses ??
T2S have 240x180@12 resolution
T2S+ have temp -20°C+120°C
T2S+ have FOV 44.9 it's near 44mm for 35mm lenses (it's perfect lenses for everydayphoto, i.e. 44mm/FF )
T2S+ lenses composite + macro
T2S+ have 256x192@12 resolution, better than T2S
T2 also called T2Search
T2Search have temp 0°C+80°C
T2Search have FOV 19.6 it's near 105mm for 35mm lenses (far Portrait/Tele)
(T2) NightVisionGo temp -20°C+170°C
(T2) NightVisionGo dont use Ge lenses it's "composite"
(T2) NightVisionGo have FOV 56 it's near 33mm for 35mm lenses (wide lenses)
From the info i got looks like really nice "T2" for kinds of thermal observations is T2L. TRange is good, optics made from Ge Monocrystal, FOV is great. While T2S (just S) is obsolete model.
Guess T2L winning challenge Vs T2S+ just having Ge lenses (ignoring FOVs).

they also might use different apps :palm: chinese marketing is funny, though searching some specific flir specs is similar pain in backside.
autotech:
InfiRay search is what they ask for but image is not as good as if you use xtherm infrared app . also hti image WIFI-view app. I i find a good difference in image quality .
If anyone try i would like to know what your opinion is for these app .
autotech:
What app do you use ? I tried Iray search quality is not as good as Xtherm infrared app or Hti image app . i would like some feedback . Thanks

thx a lot for trying to paint an overview.
I also tried to create myself an overview of the different Infiray models in the T2 series and in the T3 series.
T2pro, T2Splus, T2L, T2 Search,
and what makes it really confusing.. is that it seems that the apps, also vary... the search variant seems to be able to use the Infiray Search app (scope purpose), though not sure about the others, and the same with the Xtherm app.. some of the T2 series can use that app, and I got the impression that some models in the T2 series cant.
Same with T3 (units with 384x288 microbolometer sensor) where there also are a few T3S, T3, T3 Search, and T3pro, and then the Hti301/HT301 which seems to be identical to T3S.
I don't know what the difference is between T3 and T3S other then perhaps the lens size.. but maybe the T3 is simply a T3 search and some sellers list it as only "T3" without the "search"..
So 13mm lens for T3S and T3Pro and 19mm for T3search/T3.
the T3S is often quite a bit more expensive than the T3 on Alibaba and Taobao. which doesn't make sense if the T3S-lens (13mm) is even smaller than T3 (19mm) and everything else is equal. ?
A jungle trying to grasp an overview of the differences/models amongst Infiray dongles.
T2L seems to be an overall decent 256x192 dongle, but thats mostly because of the price that came across quite attractive with incl. EU vat and below the others - but also often delivers the somewhat cleaner & more contrast rich picture but the app seems to leave a lot to be desired and to an extent that Seek's app, almost seems spectacular good' in regards to Infiray's variant...
Not even sure that you can lock s given span on Infiray's native app.
so crucial to not let details get blown out and a feature that I use a lot on Seek's app..
Got a T2L in transit, after BG had them on quite low discounted price 2 weeks back.
example of span lock (Seek Pro FF iOS).. a pregnant 4S lipo-handwarmer and a battery testing rig with an electronic load...
