IRay's got some new toys: XTherm T2L and T2-Search

These look potentially competitive with FLIR's Boson. Pricing also seems decent based on their Alibaba page.

It's really a tiny module. Their marketing is little odd as they call it $200+ price... Which could mean anything. But it's an adjustable lens which makes this more useful than the FLIR One Pro.

The T2-Search could actually be rather good. It got a 9mm focal length with gives you a really narrow fov on such a small sensor and therefore actual useable resolution (radial) with the 25hz framerate can is also far more useful than any of the 9hz options, even if you might suffer from the noise. To me it's exciting and really great to see the changes.

Oh DAMN, these look REALLY good for the price! I might have to snag a few of them when they hit market, do wonder if they expose the same UVC output like the ThermalExpert and derivatives or a custom flow?

As of today (15 Jan) the Alibaba page is quoting US$369 each for the camera, which feels to me like a lot for 256x192 resolution (49,152 pixels). On the other hand it is one of the smallest, lightest dongle cameras so when paired with something like a lightweight Android stick would probably work well in UAV-type applications.
Rubber bands bridge the gap between WD40 and duct tape.

I suspect that the image quality will be the same as that seen in the Uni-T UTI-260B

all seeing eye, is there any way to get a file with original 192*256 resolution? or one without logo) if the lens unscrews fully, what is diameter of the tread?

9mm*(17/12)=12,75mm, thats smaller than 13)) it has narrower field of view because of smaller pixel count, the identification distance would be still a bit smaller than with qvga 17m sensors plus 13mm lens.

But the truth is 9mm larger than other 13mm. Black is T2search,colour is Ht-301 13mm.

You not count the diffrent of 388 and 256,so 9mm correspond 12.75x1.515=19.3   nearly20mm. :-+

Two questions:

1. Which is the measurement range in T2 Search?
2. Is it possible to modify it using a CO2 ZnSe lens to use for diagnosing PCB boards?

Detect Range
  • T2L: 80 m
  • T2 Search: 150 m

For T2L, I cannot remove lens from the body. Not sure is it possible to modify or not.

You can download lastest Xtherm apk from https://app.mi.com/details?id=com.infiRay.Xtherm

Temperature measuring range is -20°C ~ +120°C.
- for T2L only.

For the T2 Search, only 0°C ~ +80°C, judging by the description on the site (http://www.iraytek.com/products/rxy/T2_Search/)

Great camera, are you able to tell me if your camera module or any of the infiray smartphones are able to stream/send images via wifi? I wasn't able to find these options on the data sheet

Great topic, I'm on a bit of a budget, what would you recommend between the T2 and the t2L ? I'm going to be using it for close to medium ranges, and I'm going to bring it along with camping and try and see some wildlife at night in the forest.

Thanks

From another thread………….

For PCB detection, I highly recommend the T2S+ which is the best thermal tool for detecting tiny objects, it features 8mm macro adjustable-focus alloy lens and has the ability of measuring ultra-high temperature! If you have other questions about T2S+, feel free to let me know, I've got one last month, great camera!

Musk

Don’t you already have a suitable camera as stated above ?

Why are you spamming the same sentence 3 times over numerous minutes and from a new account?
- if you have a conclusion on the matter, then maybe explain what you're basing it on and which products you have personal experience with, and perhaps some examples where you highlight pro's & cons, - so people can relate.
instead of just spamming a certain narrative, like you're in the books, or get a percentage of the sale.
