Hello, Im Paul and this is my first post so bare with me.

I got into pcb repairs in my shed about a year ago and im now looking into getting a half decent thermal imager for diagnostic purposes. I dont think that I will benefit from a range above 100° C since I believe I will only be using it to look for shorts. Feel free to convince me otherwise. I considered a unit 260b but i would prefer a desktop solution like the flir ets320 at a lower price. Then I stubbled upon the qianli supercam x 3d, the qianli ircam2s and the IIT shot cam. I looked into it a lot but haven‘t been able to find any comparison between them or any other alternatives. I will be providing a link where they are all listed. Im happy to take any advise on other options aswell.

Thanks in advance and kind regards -Paul

You may wish to consider the Dianyang CA10 that I reviewed on this forum…..

The CA10 is available through eBay sellers for around £625 so that falls within your budget  :-+

There is an enhanced CA20 model that uses a more advanced V2 software package. You would need to check with Dianyang Technology to see whether it is available yet and it’s cost.

Dianyang Technology (DYT) have a management presence on this forum which is very useful and good to see.

After some deliberation, I decided on buying a ca-10. Since there is no difference between sensors compared to the ca-20 besides some more r&d software features, I chose the easy route of ordering the ca-10 from fonefunshop. Mainly because there is no easy way of just ordering the ca-20 since the kickstarter campaign ended and I don't want to bother contacting dian yang to get my hands on one. I would love to see the ability to just order cams from Dian Yang directly in the future. Anyways, Huge thanks to @Fraser for helping me out.
-Cheers

Good choice  :-+

One thing I missed in the supplied kit was a lens cap to protect the lens from dust etc. I bought a plastic lens cap of 44mm diameter but I have just bought a better 44mm silicone lens cap from StarviewOptics via eBay and it is perfect  :-+

It's like you can read my mind, it arrived a few days ago, and I've used it for the first time yesterday. First thing that came to mind was the lack of any kind of protector, so I just put it all the way down until I figured out something. Maybe some kind of IR transparent glass would be nice, so you can just leave it on and wipe it occasionally, but I guess that either doesn't exist or would skew the image in some way. (I'm guessing reflections) Thanks a lot for all the help once again @fraser. I'll make sure to check out the forum once in a while and answer some questions myself as soon as my schedule clears up a bit.

Hi Paulaner,

Thanks for your support !

I just noticed this dust proof requirement, we will consider this in the future. Before we consider this lens is face down to the plate, the dust will be less, and I normally use cotton swab to clean it...

Please don't use any organic solvents such as alcohol, kerosene to clean the lens, it will clean the lens coating.

And I would like to introduce the additional features of CA-20, 30 and 60,

1. Add points, lines, rectangle and polygon temperature data record features without time any limitation.
2. Add isotherm to fix the temperature color with user specified value, for different chamber temperature and long time comparison.
3. Add more color palettes, total is 16.
4. Add Victor brand power meter to test voltage and current data sync with temperature for material analysis.
5. Add 2 image enhance modes.
6. We are developing radiometric image and video analysis feature, now almost ready, will release it soon for free upgrade.

Here is some sample pictures.
