Anybody know how to download the myflir app on PC without it being questionably shady?
Long story short, I want to turn my phone into a dedicated thermal camera. Have everything I need to do it except for the app.
I dont want to have to get service on the phone to download the app. But couldnt find another option that didnt seem to entail viruses.
Ideally just want to load the apk onto the phone offline. Also my phone is not a CAT if that makes a difference.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Mobile network Service ?
I just use Wi-Fi and the built in App Store to download any apps that I need. You do not need the mobile phone network for App Store access and downloads. I actually hunted down used mobile phones that were powerful enough for my FLIR One Gen 2 dongles but that had faulty SIM sockets or other mobile network faults. I use the phones connected to Wi-Fi when any apps or updates are needed. Such phones are much cheaper than those that are fully working and if the only fault is the mobile network side of things.... it is no loss :) I bought an ‘as new’/new Motorola phone that has a faulty earpiece speaker..... it cost peanuts and is perfect as a dedicated host to a dongle thermal camera.

Ok, I will try that. I should be able to get on wifi somehow.
That is very wise! I am sorta doing the same thing by repurposing my phone to be useful. I dont get many calls lol
I also recently bought a phone "for parts" that upon arrival did have a boot error but it got over it and still had service surprisingly.
I factory reset it and super glued a lens I took out of a broken digital camera onto a dollhouse door hinge so now I can fold a lens over and get incredibly good closeups on solder joints or components. Not bad for 5$. Can also output video to hdmi and scan a board on a big screen.

I probably got lucky that the lens plastic body was molded at the perfect distance laying flush for the camera on phone to focus. But yeah was pretty pleased with it.
Just look at honest abe on the penny.

Very nice indeed!
I tried imaging Lincoln using a Therm-App a while ago. It's quite hard because of the minimal thermal contrast on piece of metal (such as a coin). Click through to the original (with details).
