PCB Thermal analysis on a budget, can't decide....
JM1010:
Thank you Fraser, you are helping me and so many others understand and appreciate the subtleties in choosing between these generic options.
Much appreciated

Just to throw another camera into the mix…. There is the Infiray P2 that I believe contains the Infiray Tiny1 core. That camera dongle is very small in size but fixed focus. It is the ‘little brother’ to the T2L.

Thermal Michael:
1. At present, I think InfiRay made some changes and C210 is only available for partner projects and is not sold directly to end-users anymore. You could conside C200 or C200pro (with only minor differences in function with C210)
2. For close-up observation (a few millimeters to a few centimeters), the T2L has a macro lens, and the infrared image is crispy and clear. At a long distance, the C210, C200, and C200pro are similar to the T2L Thermal Camera for Smartphone.
3. Software Function: C series handheld thermal camera is far better than T2L. It's able to run data analysis with the software and laptop.
4. Portability: Definitely T2L is easy to carry on and lightweight while C210 is kind of bulky.
If you are more interested in software analysis function, the C series handheld thermal camera is recommended. You can get additional macro lens of your own.
If you pay more attention to portability and does not want to buy a macro lens, then the T2L is recommended.

For PCB detection, I highly recommend the T2S+ which is the best thermal tool for detecting tiny objects, it features 8mm macro adjustable-focus alloy lens and has the ability of measuring ultra-high temperature! If you have other questions about T2S+, feel free to let me know, I've got one last month, great camera!

Fraser:
Thermalengineer,
It might be helpful to forum members if you create a short review of your T2S+ with pictures of the camera and images that it has produced whilst analysing a PCB at close range. Have you tried using the T2S+ on a USB extension cable and mounted above the PCB on a suitable bracket ? That greatly improves the ergonomics of the system for PCB use.
Looking forward to seeing your pictures.
Fraser
