Following on from the Argus 3 teardown by TheEPROM9 (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/thermal-imaging/argus-3-p4467s-teardown/msg1604509/#msg1604509) and other places where remote controls for the Argus 3 are mentioned, I thought I'd get a recent universal remote and document what's needed.
As suggested in the aforementioned discussion I obtained a One For All URC 6810. To program it for the Argus 3, refer to the first photo. Press and hold the two power buttons (labelled here 1 & 2) until the LED blinks. Then press (left power) (vol up) ( + ) (vol up) (vol down). LED should give one long blink.
Menu functions can now be accessed on the Argus 3 using the buttons identified in the second photo. You need to point the remote at the small aperture to the bottom left of the monitor.

An excellent guide that will help many. Thanks Ultrapurple.
For anyone interested in such, the Argus 3 and 4 uses Philips RC5/RC6 IR Protocol (I forget which it is)
Any universal remote control that supports a Philips TV will work but it is better to choose a simple one such as the OFA TV Zapper as detailed above.
