Seek Thermal Pro with non-stock lens test.

Hi everyone.

Just wanted to share what you can expect to get if you replace the stock lens on seek thermal pro with a lens of different focal length.
Combined the test results into a video:



I think I'll try to make a more portable lens housing for the 38mm lens in the upcoming days and do some more field tests. Overall, I'm actually pleasantly surprised how good the contrast is maintained on a 38mm lens.
On a side note — both lenses would also work as a macro lens if used on top of the stock lens (instead of replacing it).

Nice! I've always wondered what happens if you replace the stock lens on these thermal imagers, but couldn't find anyone on the internet that has tried this. How big is the lens with 160mm focal length in your video?

Both ZnSe lenses are 20mm in diameter. So just as big as the 38mm one. Hence the really small effective aperture, as it's 160mm away from the sensor.

Finally recorded some field tests with the 38mm lens:



The housing for the lens was 3D printed, the lens was fixed inside the tube with some silicone adhesive.
