Title: Several questions about thermal imagers
Post by: hinofi on March 18, 2020, 02:55:31 pm
Hi friends.
I have a few questions about thermal cameras:
1. Do all uncooled sensors have the similar structures as the attached photo shown? It seems VOX and A-Si are like this, but what about other ones such as BST and pyro-electric?
2. Why some sensors such as BST and A-Si can be damaged by the sun, while other ones like VOX is safe?
3. What is the physical limit of the pixel size? I remember somewhere stated a individule detector surface cannot be smaller than the target wavelength(or half? forgot...), however we already have 12um pixel detecting up to 14um spectrum, so I want to get a definite answer.
Thank you for reading this and welcome to discuss.
