Pure Thermal 3 Issues; GroupGets unresponsive and not helpful
« on: November 12, 2024, 06:47:23 pm »
Hello all,

recently picked up a PureThermal 3 board to use with a FLIR Lepton. No matter what I've tried I cannot get it to appear on my PC device manager. I also cannot get the board to enter into BOOT mode. Instead of the LED becoming DIM with the correct button combination (BOOT hold, plug into device<PST short press<release boot) it just turns off and won't read as a device.

I contacted GroupGets about the issue and asked for assistance or a new board, and they opted to send me a new board. I am having the exact same issues with the new board as the old one. Contacted GroupGets again about the issue, and still haven't received a response. I've followed all the instructions in their PureThermal 3 firmware video, asked ChatGPT for troubleshooting purposes, and restarted my PC multiple times.

I've tried several different USB-C cables and USB outlets but nothing is working. My Lepton core is working on both boards and will NUC (shutter activates and can hear the audible 'click'). The only variable i haven't really been able to isolate is the Lepton core itself but I'm doubting that it's the actual issue.

Is this a known issue with PureThermal 3 boards? Will I be able to get this working or is it just a bust?
I have the FLIR Lepton Breakout Board but wanted to start simple with a board that's supposed to read like a webcam in my computer.

Any help is appreciated.
