Burroughs F6100 F6700 accounting machines
« on: May 22, 2019, 12:20:47 pm »
Long ago I bought three Burroughs F6100 and F6700 accounting machines, I have just started to have a go at repairing them.

These are large, complex machines, with a programmable plate to determine what and how it works.

The snag is I have no instructions for use, and whilst it isn't that hard to work it out knowing exactly how and what it does would be very useful.

Does anyone have, or know of, instructions and servicing information for these, and other Burroughs adding and accounting machines. I have piles of servicing and operating information for NCR (National Cash Registers) machines but they are rare in the UK, Burroughs are far more common.

Burroughs internal servicing and repair documentation for their technicians was very thorough. As Unisys is the current owner of all things burroughs, it may be worth contacting Unisys to see if they are prepared to help

Thanks

Have sent a query to Unisys, but another reply says that all the Burroughs bumf went to the University of Columbia, the inference was getting anything out is not easy. I suppose the staff can't run around to every request, and I am not likely to go in person. Hoping for some old service personnel with a pile of paper in the garage.

Oh no, I hope so too.

I think there've been updates on the website but haven't looked recently
