HP-48GX infrared to serial gadget
« on: January 14, 2024, 04:53:07 pm »
Hi, I've been looking for "an MCU receiving/sending IR from/to hp-48GX and converting it into serial" project. I've made a quick search but have not found something to try (interesting.. considering the hp48 is 34y old).
The hp-48 sends out via the Red Eye protocol and receives via the SIR or the Red Eye protocol (2400baud only).
I've got the TSOP4133 IR receiver works, the transmitter - a 950nm (perhaps 850nm) led will do the job, imho.
So - TSOP4133+LED on one side of an cheapo MCU and serial TX/RX at its output.
Perhaps somebody have heard about such a project in past?
Thanks.

you may want to ask that question on https://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/index.php

An assertion ending with a question mark is a brain fart.
